HARLOW Tye Rotary Club is giving local people the opportunity to raise money for the charities and organisations that they care about. It could be a local, national or international charity, or even a school, club or care centre – the choice is up to you.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the annual Abseil for Charity event, and is sponsored by the Harvey Centre. It’s a big year all-round for the local community as we’re also celebrating Harlow’s 70th birthday and the Harlow Tye Rotary Club’s 100-year anniversary! To date, the annual abseil has raised over £850,000 for hundreds of worthy causes – an incredible achievement so far.
Are you ready to make a difference in 2017? Take the challenge on Saturday 29 or Sunday 30 April (Bank Holiday weekend) at the Church Langley Water Tower – and bring your friends and family along to bask in your glory!
You’ll be in very safe hands on the day. The Harlow Tye Rotary Club employs fully qualified experts to train and supervise all participants – they will kit you up, explain exactly what you need to do and take care of all aspects of your safety throughout the challenge.
The Club asks for an entry fee of £35 per person taking part, and 100% of your sponsorship money will go to the beneficiary of your choice. You must be 16 or older to enter, but there is no maximum age limit – all adults are welcome.
To get involved, simply go to the Harlow Tye Rotary Club website (www.harlowtyerotary.org.uk) and follow the instructions to register.
Prefer to have a registration form sent straight to you? Email email@example.com or call/text Bill Colton on 07711982671. Teams are welcome to enter – please get in touch with the club first for more information.
Need more persuading? Just imagine that sense of achievement that awaits you at the bottom – we see it in around 200 faces every year, and this year yours could be one of them!
Bryan Young, Centre Manager at The Harvey Centre says, “We’re thrilled to be supporting Harlow Tye Rotary Club in their Charity Abseil. It’s a must-see event in Harlow’s Calendar every year and is for such a worthwhile cause, so it’s great to be able to give something back to the community.”
