“Regrettably I was unable to attend the Licencing Committee meeting of 11th July due to a bereavement.
Not that it seems I could have made a difference on the vote of 5 against and 2 for, but, I am struggling to understand how the decision was reached not to permit roof signs on Private Hire vehicles (mini cabs) as a licencing condition .
Having read through the report and finding only one objection from the Hackney Carriage Trade representative (Unite) and that objection being that the roof sign might cause users to mistake a mini cab for a Taxi.
