“Local entrepreneur & business woman sponsors Frontiers female football teams.
Dr Claire Thompson, Sheering resident and founder of Agility Health Tech, has been announced as kit sponsor for both Frontiers ladies’ and under 14s girls’ teams. Claire said “I was proud to be able to sponsor the ladies team in their inaugural season last year. And what a season it was!” As well as sponsoring, Claire played for the ladies team last season when they won the League and the Essex County Trophy. “I retired at the end of last year but wanted to continue to support the ladies through sponsorship. They have a fantastic squad, great coaches and are a thoroughly lovely bunch of people.”
On sponsorsing the U14s girls’ squad, Claire said “When the opportunity arose to sponsor the girls’ team, it was a no-brainer. So many girls drop out of sport between 12 and 14 years old, I wanted do anything I could to support them and enable them to keep playing.”
Ronnie Yates, manager of the Frontiers ladies’ team commented “Claire, or Tomo as we call her, was great for us on and off the pitch last season. We are so pleased to have her as kit sponsor again, and I’m going to keep trying to get her out of retirement and back on the pitch!”
Manager of the U14s girls’ team Shani Hunter said “We are so grateful to Claire for her sponsorship. When the girls see that they are playing in kits which are the same as the ladies, it really makes them feel like they are part of a club, not just a team.”
Frontiers ladies continued their winning streak beating local rivals Harlow Reserves 4 – 1 in the season opener. The U14s girls’ first game is against Great Wakering Colts Girls on 17th Sept.”
