THE Harvey Centre in Harlow is set to kick start Christmas in spectacular style with a day of free special events and entertainment, on Saturday 18th November from 11am until 4pm. The fun will then continue to Boardwalk with Harlow Council’s Light Switch-on between 4pm and 4.15pm and then onto the Water Gardens from 4.15pm as they will turn their lights on at 6pm.
The centre will be filled with festive cheer as customers will be joined by a host of exciting entertainers including the stunning glowing frost fairy who will spread magic and sparkle wherever she goes. Joining her will be the equally glamourous Christmas bauble who looks like she’s just stepped down from a tree.
Bringing a touch of comedy to the event, the toe tapping turkeys will provide quick witted patter and tap dance routines that will put a smile on everyone’s faces. While a musically minded nun will entertain guests with her piano playing and comical vocal talents. Mr Chisseltip the Toymaker will bring a cart, bursting with toys and provide entertainment for the kids with music and dance.
Things are set to get really exciting, with the arrival of Jack Frost who will surprise guests with his juggling skills, while the striking acrobalance duo – aptly named ‘Freeze’ demonstrate an amazing display of skill and strength, as they move from one unbelievable pose to the next.
Miss Mistletoe will be spreading the Christmas love as she wanders head and shoulders above the crowd playing matchmaker with her mistletoe.
Guests will also have the opportunity to take home a comical Christmas portrait of themselves created by a visiting caricaturist who will depict them in a festive scene. And to top it off, there will be lots of freebies including chocolates, candy canes and Christmas crackers throughout the day.
On 30th November between 11am – 7pm the iconic Coca-Cola 2017 Christmas Truck will be making an appearance at The Harvey Centre. The tour begins in Glasgow and then will visit 42 locations in the UK, including Harlow. The tour is now in its 7th year and has travelled 733,811 miles – the equivalent of travelling around the world 29 times!
The Harvey Centre will have further Christmas attractions throughout November and December, which will be announced shortly. These events will complement the array of festive attractions coming to Harlow this festive season including The Water Gardens’ Giant Snow Globe, which will be in the town on 7th December between 2pm – 8pm.
Bryan Young, Centre Manager at The Harvey Centre says, “This year’s Christmas event promises to be a great day for the whole family. Our entertainers are sure to fill the centre with festive cheer and create some festive magic for the little ones, while appealing to adults as well, to get everyone in the mood for the festive season.”
