Rainbow Services

PART TIME ASSISTANT COMMUNITY BUILDER NEEDED!

RAINBOW Services is recruiting a part time Assistant Community Builder to provide support and cover on our well established and successful Community Builder project.

This is a fixed term post for 7 hours per week until 30th April 2019. The actual working days/hours are to be agreed but will be carried out over 2 days.

The salary for this post is £8.50 per hour payable by BACS transfer monthly on or around 15th of the month.

The Community Builder project is funded by Big Lottery Reaching Communities
and works to reduce social isolation and loneliness amongst older
people across Harlow. Running since May 2016, the project uses Asset Based

Community Development principles to identify isolated individuals and work with
them to build volunteer led social activities which they truly want and which bring
them together to reduce their loneliness. Alongside this, we run regular information
events – Senior Safe and Socials – and outings, bringing crucial services and
information to older residents of Harlow whilst supporting them to further extend their
social networks. The recent success and over-subscription to the project has led to
additional funding from both the Big Lottery and Essex Community Foundation to
enable us to develop more groups, hold more events and information sessions, and
reach more older people across the town.

If you are used to working as part of a team, have experience of community development
work or working with older people, and can use your initiative and work independently,
please contact Kelly Tarling on 07793 007737 or email kelly@rainbowservices.org.uk to
find out more about the role or request an application pack.

The closing date for this post is 5pm on Friday 19th January 2018, interviews will be
held on Tuesday 30th January 2018
