Passmores students fall in love with Paris

Paris Passmores

PARIS, the city synonymous with sophistication and style was the destination for twenty-nine lucky students from Passmores recently.

The students’ arrival in the City of Light was heralded by a sighting of the Champs-Élysées and their first glimpse of the Arc de Triomphe. Later there was an opportunity to climb the 210m tower of the Tour Montparnasse, and visit Sacre Coeur, the Louvre, and France’s most iconic landmark, the Eiffel Tower.

But as well as sightseeing, the students made the most of the opportunity to practise their French when they visited the local shops and experienced authentic French cuisine at a restaurant in the district of Montmartre.

Francophile and Passmores Head of Modern Foreign Languages, Yvonne Corkery said: ‘I was thrilled because the coach company that took us said that in the twenty-five years they had been taking school children abroad, ours had been the nicest and most well-behaved. I have to say, the students’ attitude to learning was excellent, and the trip was amazing. It really was an unforgettable experience, or as they say in France, une experience inoubliable!’.
