HARLOW Running Club were represented at the Vitality Big Half Marathon, organized by the team responsible for the world famous Virgin London Marathon and this year won by Mo Farah. The race route started by Tower Bridge, headed to Canary Wharf, then came back along the Highway to cross Tower Bridge into the borough of Southwark and finished at the Cutty Sark in Greenwich.
While several club members were responsible for giving out medals at the finish, 12 runners completed the course. Andy Kitson led the way in 480th place out of 11,596 finishers in a personal best time for the distance of 1hr 24min 50sec. He was followed home by John Bull 1860th in 1.40.36, Natalie Pennells 2131st in 1.42.33, Steve Warren 2563rd in 1.45.27, Steve Cowling 2698th in 1.46.18, Bobby Draper 3366th in 1.50.57, Jamie Jephcott 3422nd in 1.50.57, Ayshea Pite 5380th in 2.01.01, Debbie Smith 6163rd in 2.05.47, Laura Jephcott 8834th in 2.25.19, a new Under 20 Club Record in her debut at the distance, Teresa Warren 10,905th in 3.00.27 and Sara Coombes 11,596th in 3.32.11.
Meanwhile at the Cambridge Half Marathon Dionne Jones finished in 2320th place out of 7026 finishers in 1.49.22, Celia Haigh was 2366th in 1.49.40 and Dave Goosetree 4448th in 2.05.18.
At Hertford parkrun Rob Lowe finished in 3rd place out of 210 finishers in 18.23. He was followed by Martin McColgan 88th in 26.39, David Page 110th in 28.00, Darren Rautenbach 113rd in 28.07, Paul Schroder 145th in 30.13, Janice Page 151st in 30.19, Wendy Schroder 152nd in 30.20 and Alan Wellbelove 183rd in 34.22.
At Loughton parkrun Martyn Coulter finished in 8th place out of 73 finishers in 21.10.
