BARBARA Noble’s family came down from Sunderland to Harlow in the fifties. From there, Barbara followed an education that went from Hare Street to Passmores to Warwick University. We focus on that part of Barbara’s life because our interview reminds you of a world when students took the Eleven-Plus to try and get into Nettewswell Grammar; when Harlow students who wanted to go to University to study languages came across the obstacle that they needed Latin.
Changed times but have a listen to the interview, which we found enthralling.
