St James’ C of E Primary School was excited to welcome our local MP Robert Halfon to celebrate raising money for a School Defibrillator, which is now available for the school and surrounding community for use in emergencies during school opening hours.
Throughout last year, children, parents and staff raised money by running a cake stall and an Easter Egg competition.
The staff were overwhelmed by the response and genorosity of the St James’ families, who donated masses of home made cakes and Easter Eggs to help raise £970.
Robert met with the School Council, Year 4 and Year 2 and enjoyed a question and answer sessions about working in the Houses of Parliament and being an MP.
Several children expressed afterwards that they now aspired to become an MP like Robert.
