Table Tennis Report by BATTS
TWO years ago we established a new table tennis competition at BATTS. The Open Singles League has now become firmly established in our programme and we are excited to launch a new series starting in May and running through until the end of October. Our first series attracted 73 players, and this increased to 110 in the second series, which finishes in April.
Why is it so popular?
Quite a lot reasons. Here are some of them:
Open Singles offers a very flexible format. No need to sign up for a team.
There is no need to commit to playing months ahead – just register for each match session a few days beforehand.
If you have to miss a week, no problem – you can still qualify for prizes at the end of the series.
It is open to all ages and all levels of play.
There is a very attractive ranking system, allowing players to track their progress and ensuring everyone is matched against opponents of a similar standard.
BATTS Open Singles runs at civilised times: no late night finishes. You can choose to play either on Friday evenings or Saturday afternoons and can switch between the two whenever it suits you.
As well as being highly competitive the Singles League is family-friendly and very sociable. We can accommodate up to 48 players in our superb facilities with our cafeteria running throughout.
The cash prize fund in the current series is £1000. The size of the fund will depend on the number of players who sign up.
If you haven’t yet tried it why not join us for the new series?
