Church Langley resident still unhappy with Harlow Council over improvement funds

CHURCH Langley resident Nicola Purse has continued to question Harlow Council over money set aside to improve the Church Langley area.

In March, Nicola spoke to the Labour-run cabinet. In April, she retunred to ask further questions of the council again.

YH spoke to Nicola after the meeting to detail the questions she is asking to assess where she goes from here.

Dodging the questions is why so few people bother to attend these meetings. Nicola, I suggest you make a Freedom of Information Request of the Council and ask the following questions: 1 When were these ‘pots’ of money first created? 2 How much was in them then? 3 Ask for a list of works and the cost of these works, over £1000 which have been carried out in the last 20 years? The Council have to provide a reply within a month, and then you can make the answers public via this website and at the meetings you attend. Just another example of the council’s lack of transparency.
