Children stepped into a fairytale world for their school topic.
NURSERY and Reception children at Cooks Spinney Primary Academy attended a teddy bear picnic to celebrate the end of their topic on fairytales.
Children made their own sandwiches, took a teddy bear along for the lunch and went on a bear hunt in the school’s nature reserve.
As part of the topic, pupils looked at books including Goldilocks and The Three Bears, The Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood, The Gingerbread Man and Jack and The Bean Stalk.
Chloe Mead, nursery manager, said: “It has been a fantastic and exciting topic which the children have loved. It has involved lots of hands-on learning; we have cooked gingerbread and planted magic beans.
“The children have loved reading the books, as well as dressing up as different fairytale characters and retelling the stories.”
