Clare said: “We are very grateful to Harlow Playhouse for allowing us to preview our Edinburgh and Camden Fringe show: working class progress with backenders on the pay what you can scheme.

“This makes performing arts and comedy available to everyone. If you can’t pay it’s ok, but if you can donate, we will have our busking buckets ready after the show”.

What is the show about?

Two women from working class background support Backenders – an Eastenders parody. As seen on UKTV Dave, Judge Romesh.

Clare Harrison McCartney talks about being from Essex, mental health and poverty consciousness, with a sprinkle of silliness. As seen on Channel 5, Discovery Real Time, Channel 4, ITV4 & Dave.

Talented comic story telling and comic timing – Fest Mag.

Endearingly mad – Chortle.

A Female Russell Brand – International Fringe Festival.

Sara Louise Aston takes you on a playful musical journey, so whimsical that she doesn’t know where she is going.

Sara has a lovely stage presence, reminds me of Helen Lederer and something original – Peter Purvis

A combo of catty observations and purrfect comedy songs – Elliot Stewart.

They are joined by guest CJ Hooper, to perform a right cockney palaver in Backenders.
