o celebrate World Book Day, 2 March, staff at St Mark’s West Essex Catholic School came into school dressed as various characters from Literature. Pupils took part in a competition, organised by Ms Lewis KS3 Coordinator for the English Department, to name the character, book/play and author.

YEAR 7 pupils from St Mark’s West Essex Catholic School travelled to the O2 Arena this week to be part of the world’s largest children’s choir at the Young Voices event.
PUPILS at St Mark’s West Essex Catholic School took part in a special STEM ( Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) activity day this week sponsored by the Engineering Development Trust. It was a hands-on day designed to excite and enlighten students on how STEM is fun, interesting and results in a rewarding career. It particularly focused on raising awareness of Engineering, especially with female pupils.
LAST term, students in the Sixth Form completed their UCAS applications. St Marks are pleased to record their congratulations to those who have received offers.

THE Year 11’s at St Marks came together for one last time on the 27th May to celebrate their achievements and reflect on their time at St Mark’s. Each Tutor Group was given a personalised send off by their Tutor and they also had the pleasure of Guest Speaker, Margaret Roberts’ presence (Vice Chair of Governors and a Governor for over 25 years).
EARLIER this month, St Mark’s attended the National Schools Athletics cup held at Chelmsford stadium.
