IT WAS ONLY recently that Harlow Council announced that they would only clear the gardens of council tenants in exceptional circumstances. Elderly tenants were advised to get the family to rally round or employ a gardener. One such elderly couple who had received that advice were toiling away in their garden when they were struck by the sight of two council employees (Kier) cutting the grass and picking up a few pieces of garden debris in the house nearby.

A 16-year-old boy from Harlow has been arrested in connection with two sexual assaults in Kiln Lane, Harlow. The boy was arrested in Harlow at 7.50pm last night, Wednesday, July 17, on suspicion of sexual assault by touching in connection with the incidents on Monday, July 15. He remains in custody this morning, Thursday.

THE NHS Trust Development Authority (NHS TDA) has today confirmed the appointment of Sheila Childerhouse and Frances Pennell-Buck as interim non-executive directors of the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust.
Dr Geoff Harris, interim chair of the Trust said: “I am delighted that we have been able to appoint two hugely experienced and successful non-executive directors. A MAN IS IN custody in Harlow after being arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm. Police were called to a property in the Rundells at just after 9.30am on Tuesday morning.

A TEENAGER has been arrested in connection with reports of indecent exposure in Harlow. Officers had been investigating reports of incidents dating back to May 21 involving a man on a moped.

THE Harlow Family Group was unveiled by Sir Kenneth Clark in May 1956, almost immediately becoming the town’s unofficial emblem. Most locals felt that the sculpture related to Harlow’s adopted name of ‘Pram Town’. Prior to the unveiling, a rumour had spread amongst residents that the sculpture depicted obscene imagery. This encouraged the local ‘purity squad’ to turn up to protest at the unveiling.

POLICE are appealing for information following a burglary in Harlow during which fishing equipment was stolen. A window to a property in Rundells, Harlow, was smashed at around 2am on July 9, and fishing equipment worth a four-figure sum was stolen.
AN INQUEST will be held next week in relation to the death of a much-loved Harlow women. Karen Joy died at home in February 2012 aged just 36.
Karen was well known at Harlow Athletics Club. Last year, a special memorial cup was presented in memory of Karen Joy who was a very keen athlete for Harlow Athletic Club and was the top lady winner of the 2011 Harlow Sports Hall Athletics Challenge.

So what have we done? A wedding reception scheduled for Saturday has been re routed to the Paringdon Club, an elderly gentleman’s Sunday lunch party for 70 guests has now been re routed to Pearsons who are facilitating the event, a massive brain cancer fundraising event has been re routed to Paringdon along with a company fun day. All other events we have been trying to cover with the very welcome assistance of Paringdon – some they unfortunately cannot host, but we have suggested other venues and are striving to help the people concerned. Everybody has been re funded any monies paid but in addition we are still trying to help.
