Ladies and Gentlemen: “It’s The Rutles!”

News / Thu 15th Aug 2013 at 02:43pm

THE RUTLES ARE simply legendary. Born from a sketch on Eric Idle’s Rutland Weekend Television. They were then the subject of a great spoof-documentary called “All You Need Is Cash”.

But it was the music of Neil Innes and his ability of all the songs to pay homage but not copy The Beatles which was a remarkable feat.

With a remarkable CV stretching from The Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band to original soundtrack composition, Neil Innes has been prolific (our favourite is Ameoba Boogie but that’s another story).

The Rutles re-appeared in 1995 with Archaeology to co-incide with The Beatles Anthology.

Now The Rutles are back for a short tour and are playing The Square.

The concert is on Wednesday August 21st. Tickets are £20. Contact The Square at www.thesquareharlow.com.

Doors open at 8pm.
