Snip those stamps and collect coins for St Clare’s hospice

And if you still have old foreign currency – Spanish pesetas, German Deutsche Mark, or Italian lire at the back of your sock drawer – we’ll take them too. And who hasn’t got random keys in their kitchen drawer that don’t appear to lock anything?
Drop-off points across the St Clare Hospice area have now been established and are proving profitable too – our first consignment of 75kg of stamps, cash, old keys and broken watches was collected for free and we received £479.09 from your recycling efforts.
On top of this, the specialist company sifted six stamps from 1959 in the haul and sold them for us on e-bay, raising another £42 for us!
Anna Baldwin, fundraising manager, said many businesses and organisations that still received post with stamps on could help St Clare and urged them to consider having their own collection box.
She said: “We know lots of companies now have franking machines and lots of business is done through e-mail but used stamps are still valuable to us and we’re more than willing to help you collect them for us. And individuals who busily save up their old stamps and don’t know who to give them to will now hopefully find it easier to drop them off.”
