Ava’s pink quest continues

AVA McCarthy is one helluva girl. At just the tender age of two years old she’s leading a quest to fight childhood cancer.
TWO-year old Ava has Stage 3 Wilms Tumour with complications. The cells found in Avas tumour don’t represent a normal Wilms. Ava has baffled the lead experts and they are working hard to make sure they give correct treatment.
Ava has already totalled up nine hours of surgery and a massive 16 times under general anaesthetic. Once the tumour was removed the surgeon confirmed it weighed 869g and was the size of a small football.
Ava has finished two weeks of radiotherapy and is now facing a minimum of six-months chemotherapy. To give Ava something positive to look back on during such a unsettling time The McCarthy family have started fundraising to help every child, family and friend cope with their own cancer journeys and hopefully find a cure!
You can jump right in to Ava’s journey and become part of her story through their website www.avaspinkquest.com. It’s a story of villains and super heroes. Most important of all it’s a story of victorious pink princesses.
It’s a story in which you can be right there, with Ava, leading the way in making the world a better place by fighting childhood cancer. You don’t have to be the world’s leading oncologist to make a difference. By helping Ava on her fundraising quest you can make the difference to many many little girls (and boys!) like Ava.
Everything helps from running a cake stall or a coffee morning to running a marathon. Everyone can do something. With superhero Ava leading the way, who knows what we might be able to make happen?
