YOUR Harlow met with Veteran Great Parndon Councillor Joshua Jolles to discuss his decision to defect from the Conservatives in May last year stating, “It had been a long time coming”.

“I feel that being independent of any party dogma leaves me free to pursue the right thing as I see it, to pursue common sense objectives, and do the rght thing.”

Jolles also told of how the town has changed in the twenty-six years since his return in 1987 to a deteriorated Harlow, and his delight at watching the town mature in the years since.

Asked whether he will be standing for election again next year he confirmed, “If I’m alive and well in March, April, next year I’ll be standing.”
