DETECTIVES have appealed for information after six people were threatened during a knifepoint robbery at Harlow.

The three men and three women were sitting chatting near the bandstand in Harlow Park when they were approached by two masked men at about 10.30pm on Monday, September 23.

The six friends were told to hand over their mobile phones and when one of the men refused he was threatened with a large kitchen knife.

Two of the victims handed over phones, a black iPhone4 and a black Samsung Galaxy S3, before the two thieves ran off. They were last seen running towards the Greyhound pub.

One of the suspects was: black, about 5ft 7in tall, in his early 20s and with a muscular build. He was wearing a white clown mask and a grey tracksuit with hooded top.

The other man was: white, in his late teens or early 20s, about 5ft 5in tall and with a pale complexion and tightly curled blond hair. He was wearing a balaclava and an unzipped sweatshirt with a hood.

Anyone who saw the two men hanging around the area or running off, or anyone with any other information about them, should contact officers at Harlow CID on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
