AS Essex continues to be inspired by the London 2012 Games, residents have just one week left to nominate those who are helping shape the County’s sporting legacy.
The Active Essex Sports Awards are an opportunity to celebrate and congratulate the very best in Sport & Physical Activity in Greater Essex, and the men, women, boys and girls who help to make this happen.
Active Essex Chairman Gary Sullivan OBE, said: “The Active Essex Sports Awards celebrate talent, commitment and determination in Sport and Physical Activity in the County. This includes rising and accomplished sports people and those nurturing elite sporting talent, or inspiring their local community to be more active. There is still time to nominate and I urge residents to get voting. Through nominating someone for an award you’ll help us celebrate and promote a positive legacy from the Games one year on.”
Essex County Councillor Ann Naylor, Cabinet Member for Health and Wellbeing said: “There is still time to nominate your local heroes who have really made a difference to sport in Essex. The Active Essex Sport Awards offer the opportunity to reward those people who inspire excellence and encourage our future generations to be healthy and fit.”
Nominations close on Monday 30th September 2013 with the Awards presented at Colchester United Community Stadium on 13 November 2013 and broadcast live on BBC Essex Radio.
