Running: Outstanding run by Murtagh at Essex Half Marathon champs

HARLOW Running Club members had a successful day at the Essex Half
Marathon Championships held at Pleshey, near Chelmsford, picking up
two gold and one silver medals. Steve Murtagh led the way finishing in
8th place out of 394 finishers and 1st Vet 40 to win the gold medal in
his category in an excellent 1hr 14min 40sec. John Tennant finished in
92nd place and 1st Vet 60 to win the gold medal in his category in a
superb 1hr 35min 05sec and Colin Moody was 131st and 2nd Vet 60 to win
the silver medal in 1hr 39min 04sec. Also running were Jared Bethell
(20th, 1.19.37), Sean Flynn (141st, 1.40.02), Andrew Terrell (221st,
1.48.29), Janice Page (226th, 1.49.34), Graham Saville (247th,
1.52.01), Robin Lozeau (252nd, 1.52.28), David Page (266th, 1.54.07),
Paul Schroder (268th, 1.55.07, PB) and Wendy Spring (301st, 1.59.35).

At the Dublin Half Marathon the indefatigable Andy Kinney finished in
3719th place out of 5405 finishers in 2hrs 10min 24sec. Then
incredibly on the following day Kinney crossed the border and ran the
Belfast City Half Marathon finishing in 2172nd place out of 3253
finishers in 2hrs 11min 47sec.

At the Leighton Buzzard 10 mile race Richard Solomons finished in 80th
place out 203 finishers in 1hr 08min 03sec.

At the Sedgefield Parkrun 5K in Durham Jamie Jephcott finished in 6th
place out of 132 finishers in 19min 14sec. Son Daniel was 7th and 1st
U20 in an excellent personal best time for the distance of 20min dead
and daughter Laura was 76th in 29min 48sec.

At the Gunpowder Parkrun 5K in Waltham Abbey Debbie Barry finished in
43rd place out of 90 finishers in a personal best time of 25min 31sec
and Vicky Calver was 80th in 32min 34sec.
