THE GENERAL MEDICAL COUNCIL (GMC) has announced that a Harlow doctor will be banned from the profession for twelve months.

The GMC imposed a ban at their hearings in London this week.

Dr Roy Weare, a former partner at the Ross Practice in Bush Fair, was found to have used a patient’s identity to obtain erectile dysfunction drugs for his own use.

Dr Weare avoided being struck off after the panel took into consideration his full co-operation and previous good record.

mptsThe ban will come into force 28 days after the doctor receives notification of the decision.

Dr Weare will have to face a review panel before the end of his suspension to prove he is fit to return to unrestricted practice.
