Athletics: Success at English X-country relay for Harlow runners

TEN Harlow pupils took part in the English National Cross Country Relay Championships.

Burnt Mill School pupil Kyesha Robinson (12) ran the first leg in the U-13 girls age group.

Kyesha, the reigning West Essex Schools champion, came in 32nd from over 100 starters in 8 minutes and 2 seconds.

St Nicholas student Mia Hirons (12) clocked 8.52 for 39th.

Burnt Mill student Megan Caswell (12) had her best run to come in 36th in 8.25.

Mark Hall School’s Jodie Ratcliff (14) and Rosie Poole (14), a Stewards student, were part of the U-15 girls team that came 15th from more than 100 teams. Rosie clocked 7.52 and Jodi ran 7.50.

In the U-15 boys team Mark Hall’s Canaan Solomon (15) took an early lead and registered the third fastest lap but suffered breathing problems.

He was second overall from 300 runners clocking 6.25, being pipped to the win by just eight seconds.

Owen Armstrong (14), a Burnt Mill School student, was 15th (7.27) over 2km, while his school mate Jack Shury (14) clocked 9.00 for 64th.

Alfie Poole (12), a Stewards pupil, was 22nd out of more than 100 in the U-13 boys race in 7.27. David Badmus (11), a Mark Hall, was 41st in 8.23.
