IF YOU THOUGHT you recognised Kitty, played by Yana Rodionova in the Harlow Playhouse pantomime, Dick Whittington, then you would be right.
In 2003, Yana was the “victim” as knife thrower, Jayde Hanson attempted to break his world record of throwing knives on Good Morning on ITV.
He had set the record just two days earlier by throwing 124 knives in one minute and 41 seconds.
Millions of viewers were watching as presenters Philip Schofield and Fern Britton rushed to Miss Rodionova’s assistance.
At the time, Yana said that she forgave Mr Hanson, who first learned knife-throwing aged 11, despite it being the third time he had struck her with a badly-aimed blade.
She must have really forgiven him as they married a year later.
Yana continues to perform for a number of circuses. Her speciality in the pantomime is her hula-hoop work, which has to be seen to be believed. So, get yourself down to the pantomime.
