HARLOW MP, Robert Halfon has won a debate in the House of Commons regarding his campaign on energy companies, according to the MP, charge their customers extortionate admin fees for not paying their bills by direct debit.
Mr Halfon said: “I secured this debate by tabling a Motion in Parliament, which condemned the energy companies who charge customers an average of £114 extra every year for simply not paying their bills via direct debit and asked the Government to take action to help limit these charges.
This Motion was subsequently supported by 175 backbench MPs from all different parties and the debate was approved last week.
The debate will be streamed live today (Feb 4th) and we will report back on the proceedings.
