Hospital patient panel keen to hear your voice

Health / Wed 5th Feb 2014 at 12:09pm

A NEWLY established Patient Panel at the Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust is keen to raise its profile and is organising a conference to bring together people and organisations interested in healthcare across the area.

The all- day conference at the Harlow Leisurezone on 28 February will outline how a patient panel works and plays an important role in the Trust’s ambition to constantly improve the care of everyone who uses the NHS services provided.

Patient Panel, Chairperson, Ann Nutt, said, “The Trust is working very hard to not just listen to patients but action ideas they put forward. However, the Patient Panel is independent of the Trust and will always give the patient’s view first and foremost.”

Trust Chairman, Douglas Smallwood, who has been keen to strengthen the Patient Panel voice will address the conference and the Care Quality Commission – the NHS inspectors – has been invited to provide a speaker.

Anyone interested in attending should email [email protected] for further details.

The conference aims to establish the key voluntary organisations in the area and ways to improve links with them .
