Tory anger as Labour refuse to freeze Council Tax

Politics / Fri 7th Feb 2014 at 07:23am

johnsonaTHE HARLOW CONSERVATIVE group has reacted with anger after an amendment to freeze council tax in Harlow was voted down by the ruling Labour group.

Shadow Conservative leader detailed his proposals for an amendment that included a number of proposals including cutting councillors’ allowances, curtailing spending on Harlow Times and a number of other proposals.

Cllr Johnson also pointed to the council turning down a government offer.

This was the first time in Harlow Council’s history that cameras were allowed into the council chamber. With that in mind, we have divided much of the filming into bite-size chunks and will be running them over the next three days.
