Accuro offering free disability support training

HASTINGWOOD-based charity Accuro (Care Services), which supports people with a disability, is offering free training to people considering paid or voluntary work with children with a disability.

Shared Care Co-ordinator Sam Lee said: “The main focus of the training will be for people wishing to become Shared Carers with Accuro but the course would be an appropriate introduction for anyone considering working in this field.

“We ran this course last year and received very positive feedback from the attendees.”

Accuro’s Shared Care service provides family-based short breaks to children and young people with a disability, giving them the opportunity to experience social and leisure opportunities outside of their family home whilst also providing a break from caring to the parents and other family members.

Places on the course are limited and must be pre-booked.

The training is provided without any obligation on people attending to work or volunteer with Accuro or on Accuro offering participants voluntary or paid work.

The course will run over two Saturdays – March 1 and March 15 – from 10am until 4pm at the Accuro offices in Hastingwood Road, Hastingwood.

For more information, or to reserve a place, ring Michelle or Sam on 01279 433117.
