PLANS for “North Harlow” have been unveiled in the East Herts Council’s draft District Plan.

The plans have been delivered to 58,000 homes in East Herts.

The complete document, which runs to several hundred pages, sets out where the authority thinks homes and related infrastructure could go to 2031.

Local and national research shows that the district will need 15,000 homes within that time frame

The authority has also decided to pursue development plans previously known as Harlow North for up to 10,000 homes in the Gilston area.

A further 500 will be built across the biggest villages like Much and Little Hadham,

The draft says Sawbridgeworth can accommodate 562 properties – against a projected need for 456.

The consultation runs from February 27 to May 22. This gives people 12 weeks – double the statutory requirement – in which to make their responses.
