Police say avoid M25 after serious accident shuts motorway

Police have urged drivers to avoid the clockwise M25 through Essex following a serious road collision near Epping. Officers were called at about 12.30pm on Monday June 30 following reports of a multi-vehicle collision on a section of the M25 at Junction 27, where it crosses over the M11.

The collision involved two HGVs, a car and two motorcycles. One motorcyclist has been taken to hospital with serious injuries. Southbound M25 traffic has been diverted on to the northbound M11 to Harlow Junction 7 to return on the southbound M11 to rejoin the M25.

Motorists have also been urged to avoid Junction 7 of the M11 until the diversions are lifted.

M25 closed and queueing traffic clockwise at J27 M11, because of an accident involving a car, a lorry and a motorbike and recovery work. Congestion to J24, A111 (Potters Bar).
