Travel woe for Harlow commuters as train delays

News / Tue 8th Jul 2014 at 09:47am

TRAINS through Harlow may be cancelled or delayed at short notice today (Tuesday, July 8) while urgent repairs are carried out to the rail track near Broxbourne.

Operator Abellio Greater Anglia announced shortly before 10am that there was an issue affecting lines between London Liverpool Street and Cambridge/Stansted Airport.

A statement on Greater Anglia’s website said: “Owing to urgent repairs to the track at Broxbourne, train services between London and Stansted Airport, London and Cambridge, and Stratford and Bishops Stortford are subject to short notice alterations, delays and cancellations. Services between London and Hertford East are not affected by this incident.

Replacement road transport is currently being arranged, but is not yet in place. Network Rail engineers are en route to assess the problem, and further updates will be given as soon as the information becomes available.

“We thank you for your patience and understanding whilst the repairs to the track are made.”
