Gymnastics: Rebecca shines in Suffolk champs

gymGOLDEN girl Rebecca Porter (13) shone for Harlow Gymnastics Club at the Pipers Vale Pearls competition in Ipswich, Suffolk.

Rebecca’s outstanding performance was rewarded with gold medals for vault and asymmetric bars in the 12+ intermediate event.

She also placed sixth on beam and finished in a commendable fourth place overall.

The competition attracted entrants from top clubs all over the Eastern region as well as gymnasts from Cheshire, Nottinghamshire and North Wales.

Also in the 12+ intermediate event, Millie Chinnery (12) was fifth on asymmetric bars and finished in 11th place overall.
Win-sze Kwok (13) and Chanel Jordan (12) finished in 14th and 16th place respectively.

Charlotte Brough (12) placed fifth on asymmetric bars and joint fifth on beam with Harlow team-mate Izzy Godfrey (12) in the age 12+ advanced competition.

Charlotte finished in seventh place with Izzy in eighth place overall.

Lucy Barylski (12) and Abbey Taylor (12) finished in ninth and 12th places respectively in the same competition.

In the age 10-11 intermediate competition, Daisy Jones (11) and Cailin Walker (11) finished in 22nd and 28th places respectively.
In this friendly competition, Rebecca won the top award for artistic impression with Abbey and Izzy receiving runners-up prizes.

Results:- age 12+ advanced: Charlotte Brough (12) 7th 43.90; Izzy Godfrey (12) 8th 43.30; Lucy Barylski (12) 9th 42.65; Abbey Taylor (12) 12th 41.65.

Age 12+ intermediate: Rebecca Porter (13) 4th 46.35; Millie Chinnery (12) 11th 44.50; Win-sze Kwok (13) 14th 43.40; Chanel Jordan (12) 16th 43.05.

10-11 years intermediate: Daisy Jones (11) 22nd 42.70, Cailin Walker (11) 28th 39.05.
