Financial crisis at Princess Alexandra deepens as trust is reported to auditors

THE Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust in Harlow is one of nineteen NHS trusts that have been referred to government ministers after auditors raised concerns about their financial health.
The Audit Commission made the move after reviewing the health of 98 trusts and made the referrals because the trusts have failed to break even and do not have robust enough plans to balance the books in the coming years.
The hospital is estimated to be arounf £15 million in debt.
