Harlow Council’s Call Centre calamity.

THE SHOCKING state of Harlow Council’s call centre was revealed in papers at the council cabinet meeting.

33% of all calls to the council from residents, drop off, drop out, disappear, disconnect etc.

A chart illustrated that lost calls have risen from 15% in December to 33% to date.

Council leader, Jon Clempner explained that it was partly due to “a high level of calls due to illegal encampments and the volume is likely to remain so.”

The report also indicated that reduced staffing had made an impact.

Tory leader, Andrew Johnson told the cabinet that this was a “shocking figure and a dis-service to the people of Harlow.”
