Radiographers walk out at Princess Alexandra Hospital

Politics / Mon 20th Oct 2014 at 12:38pm

LAST Monday it was the midwives. Today (Oct 20th), radiographers walked out at the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

This is the first time in more than 30 years that they have done so and it is a protest over their pay.

Patients waiting X-rays, ultrasounds, MRI and CT scans have had their appointments cancelled and rearranged.

The strike, followed up by “work to rule” for the rest of the week, comes after the Government rejected a recommended one per cent pay rise. Health secretary Jeremy Hunt has also said there will be no pay rise for radiographers next year.
