WEST Essex Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is inviting members of the public to its next Board meeting which is taking place on Thursday 27 November 2014 from 09.30am.
The Board will meet in the Harlow Resource Centre, Leisurezone, Harlow, where the meeting will cover potential opportunities for co-commissioning GP services with NHS England, the west Essex five year plan and the CCG’s sustainability management plan.
Clare Morris, chief officer at West Essex CCG said: “The Board will discuss our approach to co-commissioning GP services from April next year onwards.
“As health and care services across west Essex are, like the rest of England, experiencing high demand, the plans for discussion in this meeting set out the vision for the coming years of services in west Essex.
“This means everyone who joins us for these meetings can see how their local NHS is planning to use the available resources wisely in order to meet the needs of local people.
“At the meeting, people will also have the opportunity to receive materials from our new winter campaign and find out more about self-care and the NHS 111 telephone advice service.”
West Essex CCG, the organisation that plans and buys healthcare services for the residents of Harlow, Epping Forest and Uttlesford, is currently running a major winter campaign encouraging people to take care of themselves over winter. In order to promote the campaign, the CCG are asking people to tweet a picture of themselves to show how they are caring for themselves and their family this winter.
This could be a picture of anything from a mug of hot chocolate to being wrapped up warm which can be posted on twitter using ‘#selfcareselfie’.
Local people are invited to observe West Essex CCG Board meetings, which are meetings held in public rather than public meetings. Although members of the public are not able to participate in the decision-making process they will have an opportunity to hear the latest news on the vision for health and care in Epping Forest, Harlow and Uttlesford.
The final part of the meeting will provide local people with the opportunity to ask questions to the Board.
