Epping set record straight on Harlow travellers returning

News / Thu 4th Dec 2014 at 01:53pm

ONE OF the questions asked about the Harlow Traveller situation is: Is there any possibility of them returning to their land over in Epping.

So, we thought, we would ask Epping Forest District Council.

A spokesperson said: “Any application for permission to use the site for a traveller site would be carefully assessed, but our professional guidance suggests that the circumstances regarding this site will not have materially changed since the last application and a refusal would be the most likely outcome.

“Any occupation of the site without a relevant planning permission would be in breach of the High Court injunction and we would report any such occupation to the High Court so that they can enforce the order.

“Anyone can submit a planning application but as things stand it is unlikely that the Green Belt considerations would be lightly set aside.”
