LABOUR-run Harlow Council is set to recommend turning the street lights back on.
A spokesperson for Harlow Council said: “In response to feedback from the budget consultation conducted last summer, Harlow Council has been considering this for a number of months as part of preparing its budget proposals for 2015/16.
“There will be a recommendation to Cabinet, about turning streets lights back on, at its meeting on 29 January 2015.
“Since March 2014 street lights in Harlow owned by Essex County Council, which don’t meet exception criteria, have been turned off between 12midnight and 5am seven days a week as part of the County Council’s part-night street lighting policy”.
