Update on unauthorised encampments in Harlow

The current unauthorised encampments situation in Harlow is as follows:

Katherines Way (land owned by Essex County Council):

There are 14 caravans in this encampment.

Essex County Council has served a court summons to the encampment which arrived on 10 February 2015 and a court date is scheduled for 17 February 2015. Essex County Council will serve a court summons to the encampment which arrived on 12 February 2015 on 17 February 2015 for a court date on 19 February 2015.

Horsecroft Road (land owned by Essex County Council):

There are seven caravans in this encampment. Essex County Council is serving a Direction to Leave on 17 February 2015.

Encampments on Third Avenue and Edinburgh Way vacated on 16 February 2015.

Further updates will be issued when we receive information on directions to leave and county court hearing dates are sent through.

Crime and anti-social behaviour offences should be reported to Essex Police on 101 or, in an emergency dial 999. If you wish to report crime anonymously this can be done to CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111.

Anti-social behaviour incidents including fly-tipping and littering can be reported to Harlow Council. It is important that any offences are reported so they can be investigated and appropriate action taken. Reporting issues and incidents can also help support any legal action the Council takes.
