FIREFIGHTERS have been called to a lorry containing a leaking chemical drum. The area has been cordoned off and the premises nearby has been evacuated as crews deal with the spillage.

Update:12:15hrs: Fire crews are standing by at the incident and are waiting for the arrival of a chemical clean-up company.

Update:13:49hrs: One fire appliance remains at the incident standing by.

Update: Firefighters had made the scene safe by 15:25hrs and the last appliance left at 15:37hrs. The incident was left in the hands of a specialist cleaning company.
