Harlow Town 0 v 2 Cray Wanderers

HARLOW Town’s automatic promotion hopes took a real dent as they lost 2-0 at home to relegation threatened Cray Wanderers.

The first chance of the game came in the third minute from a shot by Layne Eadie that just flashed past the post.

Not to be outdone, Craig Pope had a point a minute later as Harlow looked to impose themselves on struggling Cray.

Keeper Andy Walker produced a great cover save from a fierce shot as Cray tried to counter.

In the 16th minute, Harlow Town produced a great move that all started from great tracking back by skipper David Cowley. The move swept forward and ended with a fine save from the Cray keeper.

Harlow were being patient which was just as well as Cray were well organised and resolute.

In the 28th minute, Andy Walker produced another great save from an Orlando Smith shot.

A bolt from the blue came in the 48th minute when Ayo Bolarinwa hammered the ball home from the right side of the penalty box.

Danny Chapman rang the changes and brought on Shane Stamp. Jamie Guy had looked a bit disconnected for most of the game and needed support.

But Cray really had their confidence up and Harlow needed a plan B.

Harlow continued to press but you couldn’t say they had any clear cut chances.

This was not looking like Harlow’s day and sure enough Alex Teniola made sure of the three points for the Kent side as he tucked the ball away from close range.

It ended a bad day at the office for Harlow. It happens but with so few games left, this game may define their season.
