HARLOW Playhouse are set to hold a celebration called “We’ve Only Just Begun” to commemorate the extensive career of the Carpenters music on April 22nd.

The Carpenters achieved their first UK hit with ‘Close To You’ in 1970, and had a successful musical background with 17 consecutive US top 10 hits dating from the ’60s through to the ’80s.

The American vocal and instrumental duo consisted of siblings Karen and Richard Carpenter.

Together, they produced a distinctively soft musical style and later became one of the best-selling music artists of all time.

Their 14-year career saw the duo record 11 albums and release 31 singles.

The one-night only show will see vocalist Toni Lee and her Big Band and singers performing familiar chart hits for all ages to enjoy.

Every song will be a sing-a-long chart hit in celebration of the Carpenters music and the spirit of Karen Carpenter, who sadly passed away in 1983 at the age of 32.

You can book your tickets for the 7:30pm showing on www.playhouseharlow.com for £21, a show for all to enjoy!
