Remembering those who died at work in Harlow

A NUMBER of political activists, community leaders and residents took part in a short procession in the town on Saturday.

The procession went from the Broad Walk to St Paul’s church.

A spokesperson said: “Many thanks to retired electrician and Unite member Tom Topley for carrying the Trades Council wreath. Tom is also a stalwart of the Harlow Pensioners Action Association.

“Thanks also to Harlow Council leader Cllr Jon Clempner who carried the wreath on behalf of the Labour Group and accompanied by Cllr Ian Beckett and prospective councillor John Strachan. They were joined by Labour Essex County councillor Karen Clempner.

Harlow TUC also gives a big thankyou to Labour PPC Suzy Stride for taking time out of a very busy election campaign to join us in remembering our fallen fellow workers.

“We also thank Cllr Waida Forman, Danielle and Paul for carrying our banner today”Trades Union.
