Police appeal after distress call from lorry in North Weald

POLICE are appealing for any drivers of white lorries who have entered the country in to Kent and travelled along the A414 at North Weald to check their trailers.

Essex Police received a distressed call from someone saying they were in the back of a lorry on the A414 at North Weald just after 8.30am.

Police investigations have established the lorry they were travelling in was in Ashford in Kent at 7.07am this morning, Wednesday, May 6.

At this stage officers do not know any more about the vehicle or where it may be heading.

Any driver who has come in from the continent in to Kent and is driving a white lorry is asked to pull over when it is safe and check their trailers. If you find any people contact police as soon as possible on 101 or in an emergency 999.
