SARA STOWE – Harpsichord
Sara Stowe has local connections, not least because she studied the harpsichord with Virginia Black.
Sara was one of Ginny’s Star pupils and won the Raymond Russell harpsichord prize under her tuition. We welcome the opportunity of having back the sounds of this instrument and its different kind of music.
PROGRAMME:
A choice of Sonatas from the Virginal Books by Thomas ARNE (1756),
Thomas CHILCOTT and Anne CROMWELL (1638).
Sara follows parallel careers as soprano and harpsichordist performing as soloist and as a member of various music ensembles. With international tours, festivals and recordings, her performances have included Purcell with the Academy of Ancient Music, the solo harpsichord pieces of Gyorgy Ligeti in solo recital, religious songs of Hildegard von Bingen with Sinfonye, Stockhausen’s ‘Stimmung’,
They offer home-made Soup and fresh Bread from the Mayfield Farm Bakery in Old Harlow at 12.45 pm
