Robert Halfon Enterprise ZoneON WEDNESDAY, Harlow MP Robert Halfon officially opened the Harlow Enterprise Zone.

This marks the completion of the first phase of development on the Enterprise Zone, made possible by a public private partnership comprising the landowner, local government and national government.

The Enterprise Zone has the capacity to generate up to 3,000 jobs in Advanced Engineering, ICT and Life Sciences and will be the biggest single commercial development ever to take place in Harlow.

The relocation of Public Health England will spur to further development in Harlow as more companies will want to locate close to PHE and the Enterprise Zone is well placed for that and the UTC will be able to provide companies with the future workforce that they require.

Robert Halfon said: ‘The Enterprise Zone is part of an important triangle of investment, skills, business and jobs between the new Public Health England, the Enterprise Zone, the University Technical College and Harlow College.

The Government is investing in Harlow and business and jobs are coming back to our town.

I am especially delighted that Arrow Electronics and Raytheon were in attendance today, both of whom have signed 15 years leases to take space at Kao Park on the Harlow Enterprise Zone. Their presence will boost the local economy and benefit Harlow enormously and I am excited to see what the future will bring.

With Arrow Electronics and Raytheon, I can see the potential that this project has to strengthen Harlow’s reputation as a hub of innovation and invention, as well as create hundreds and potentially thousands of jobs in our local community over the coming years. One of my biggest priorities as the local Member of Parliament is to bring jobs to Harlow, and I commend you all today for working towards a project that strives to achieve just that.’
