THERE WERE dramatic scenes in the car park in a Tesco’s car park in Harlow as armed police arrested a man who was suspected of “brandishing a handgun”.

A motorist contacted Essex Police shortly after 3.15pm (Thursday) and reported that they had seen a man brandishing a handgun whilst driving on Edinburgh Way in Harlow.

YH understands that the vehicle was followed over two miles to the Tesco’s car park in Church Langley where a man in his twenties was confronted by armed police and arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm.

A handgun was recovered from the vehicle.

A man was conveyed to Harlow Police Station where he is being questioned by detectives.

An eye-witness told YH what they had seen. They said: “It was very dramatic. There was a number of armed police with peaked-caps on and uniformed police as well.

“They had the man in handcuffs and led him away.”

Church LangleyTHERE are reports that a man has been arrested in the car park at Tesco’s in Church Langley.

A number of unmarked vehicles and uniformed patrols attend the location at just after 3.30pm on Thursday October 29th.
