Make It Happen: Harlow’s Global Entrepreneurship Week Launch Event

By Julia Salisbury

To celebrate the start of Global Entrepreneurship Week, a range of organisations were on hand yesterday in Harlow’s Harvey Centre.

As part of the nation’s largest entrepreneurship- focused campaign, Harlow Council organised a launch event to encourage and support the town’s entrepreneurs as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) 2015.

Between 11am and 2pm yesterday, the Harvey Centre and the organisations within it, gave support and guidance to those who were thinking about starting their own business or who are self-employed.

The event formed part of the week of global activities taking place, which aim to highlight and celebrate entrepreneurship, as well as offer assistance to those who are interested in setting up their own business or developing their business networks.

Organisations such as Essex Innovation, Anglian Ruskin University, BEST Growth Hub and many more businesses were there to dispense information and advice to those who were interested.

Cllr Tony Durcan, Portfolio Holder for Regeneration and Enterprise at Harlow Council has said: “Global Entrepreneurship Week is a great campaign, highlighting the importance of enterprise and entrepreneurialism. This year’s theme is ‘Make It Happen’ and out launch event is all about helping existing or aspiring entrepreneurs to make it happen.”
