“Vigil for Peace” set to be held in Harlow

Politics / Sun 6th Dec 2015 at 02:30pm

TricolourVigil for Peace

In solidarity across all faiths and none, with all human beings

Sunday 13th December
8.30pm – 9.30pm
Outside Civic Centre, Harlow Town Centre

Paris has focussed our minds on the issues we face as a world and community. It has caused us to pause and reflect upon all areas of the world where communities are inflicted by war on a daily basis or come under frequent attack.

One month on, in this season of goodwill, we want to join with the people of Harlow, in a spirit of goodwill to all, to commit ourselves to work for peace in our world and communities. We want to give the people of Harlow the opportunity to come together and demonstrate our unity and resolve and to give voice collectively to our thoughts and feelings.

Programme:

8.30-8.50pm Candle Lit vigil outside the Civic Centre
8.50-9.10pm Hot drink at St Paul’s Hall
9.10-9.30pm Readings for Peace

All welcome – for those of all faiths and none.

All are invited to bring along a suitable reading to be shared in the final 20 minutes of the event.
